I have been a member of US Lacrosse since my sophomore year in high school and continue to support the great work that this organization does. The mission of US Lacrosse is to ensure a unified and responsive organization that develops and promotes the sport by providing services to its members and programs to inspire participation, while preserving the integrity of the game. US Lacrosse grants the privilege of membership to individuals (players, coaches, officials and leadership) and organizations committed to the tenets of its mission. Maximum Lacrosse Camps strongly recommends that all lacrosse players as well as fans join US Lacrosse. Membership is easily attained by visiting http://www.uslacrosse.org/
Donate time and/or funds to worthy causesAs part of my commitment to giving back to the game that’s given me so much and to the communities that have supported me and the teams I’ve played with, Maximum Lacrosse Camps will make a donation to a charitable foundation or other organization of our choice each time we run a camp. Information about each cause supported by one of our camps will be posted with each camp announcement and registration materials.
The Mario St. George Boiardi FoundationOur inaugural camp honors George Boiardi, # 21, captain of the Cornell lacrosse team who was killed during a game in 2004. Maximum Lacrosse Camps will make a donation of $10 per camper attending our first camp to The Mario St. George Boiardi Foundation. This Foundation was established in 2007 to honor, celebrate, and memorialize the life, legacy, and dreams of George Boiardi, and honors George’s legacy by raising and donating funds to worthwhile charitable organizations that empower the next generation through academics and athletics, two of George’s lifelong passions. Save the Day FoundationAnother one of the charitable organizations I have been closely involved with in recent years is the Save the Day Foundation. A coalition between the Dream Factory of Central New York and the Cornell Men’s Lacrosse program, Save the Day was formed to raise money to grant dreams to critically and chronically ill children from the age of three through eighteen. Working closely with the foundation’s staff on numerous projects and raising money to help support its programs was a truly rewarding experience for my teammates and me, and I was particularly proud to receive the Diane Geppi-Aikens Scholarship for Outstanding Commitment to Community Service from CBS Sports, which donated $5,000 to The Dream Factory in my honor.
